And when I came in with tears in my eyes, you always knew whether I needed you to hold me or just let me be. I don’t know how you knew, but you did, and you made it easier for me.

And I learned what is obvious to a child. That life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. That each day should be spent finding beauty in flowers and poetry and talking to animals. That a day spent with dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered. But most of all, I learned that life is about sitting on benches next to ancient creeks with my hand on her knee and sometimes, on good days, for falling in love.

All the best love stories have one thing in common… you have to go against odds to get there.

And the bottom line is, what defines you isn’t how many times you crash, but the number of times you get back on the bike. As long as it’s one more, you’re all good.

It’s not about what happened in the past, or what you think might happen in the future. It’s about the ride. And you know what…when you least expect something great might come along. Something better than you even planned for.

So maybe you could walk with me a while and maybe I could rest beneath your smile. Everybody stumbles sometimes and needs a hand to hold because it’s a long trip alone.

The happiest people are not the ones who have everything.
They are the ones who make the best of everything.
